This fall we are excited to offer additional in-person speakers and workshops for you to engage with as part of the Our Wisconsin experience. Our Wisconsin Put it Into Practice is a series of in-person programming designed to build upon content in the online course module with additional skill development and awareness.
Our Wisconsin Learning Outcomes
Participants will learn about social identities and build awareness of how personal and systemic actions impact individuals’ experiences.
Participants will make connections between systems of power, privilege, and oppression and the impact on individuals and communities.
Participants will develop strategies for engaging in dialogue and action to build an inclusive campus.
On Sunday, September 4th, from 10:45 am-12 noon and 1:30 pm-3 pm in Shannon Hall at the Memorial Union, we welcomed Our Wisconsin keynote speaker, Kat Lazo, to campus.
Kat is a director, producer and host. She will discuss her series, “The Kat Call,” where she debunks taboos and misconceptions about the Latino community and breaks down how acknowledging privilege and oppression can bring us closer to collective liberation.
